About the role:

The University are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to provide support and training for colleagues across our University in realising the impact of their research through either commercialisation, or other knowledge exchange processes.  Working across all our sites, the successful candidate will provide operational management and delivery of an evolving portfolio of projects and processes associated with the commercialisation of research and knowledge exchange.  You will also contribute to the achievement of our Strategic Plan, in particular in support of our corporate goals to grow significantly the levels of external income generated by our research.  This new role is part of the Post-Award and Commercialisation Team within our Research and Innovation Development Office.

With a degree or relevant professional qualification at degree level, you’ll have experience of working on research commercialisation and knowledge exchange projects and of delivering training in the associated processes to colleagues, as well as more general experience in managing a range of different projects. You will have detailed knowledge of different types of intellectual property and the usual ways in which it can be protected and exploited. You will be enthusiastic about supporting our colleagues to maximise the impact of their research through various forms of knowledge exchange. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in a busy environment.
